General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Program

Welcome to VIDYA BHARATI ACADEMY OF NURSING RESEARCH & SCIENCES! We are dedicated to nurturing compassionate and skilled nursing professionals. Our General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program is a comprehensive diploma course designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career in healthcare.

About the GNM Course:

The GNM program is a 3-year diploma course focusing on general nursing and midwifery practices. It prepares students to provide holistic care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, community health centers, and more.

Eligibility Criteria (Academic Session 2025-26):

To be eligible for admission to the GNM course at Vidya Bharati Academy of Nursing Research & Sciences, candidates must meet the following criteria as prescribed by the West Bengal Nursing Council and Government of West Bengal:
  • Female Candidates only
  • Rank in Common Entrance Test GNM (WBJEE)
  • Student shall be admitted once in a year.
  • Student shall be medically fit.
  • Minimum Education:
    1. 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.
    2. 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science- Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/ CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
    3. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational stream –Health care Science from recognized Board/State/Centre .

Admission Process:

Admission to the GNM course is based on the guidelines set by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) for the ANM(R) & GNM Entrance Examination.

  1. Application Form: Candidates must apply online through the official WBJEEB website.

  2. Entrance Examination: Appear for the ANM(R) & GNM Common Entrance Test conducted by WBJEEB.

  3. Merit List & Counselling: Selection will be based on the merit obtained in the entrance examination and subsequent counseling sessions.

  4. Document Verification: Provisional admission will be granted after successful verification of all required documents and payment of the requisite fees.

  • Class 10th & 12th admit card

  • Conduct/Character Certificate
  • Migration Certificate issued y the Board
  • If ST/SC/OBC categories, Certificate of Proof

  • Allotment letter and Rank card
  • Five Recent passport size well-groomed photographs in white backdrop
